About Us

Our founder, who goes by Bobsman227, started in Flight Simulation over a decade ago. Since then, he found that being confined to specific airline operations was not for him. So, he learned how to make liveries for aircraft on different simulators.

The name originally went through a few different iterations, before settling on Blighty. A callsign that is reminiscent of "home".

In 2025, Bobsman227 took to the skies of VATSIM, using the callsign "Blighty" and prefix 'BLY'. This caught the attention of some local streamers, who said it was a cool idea!

Now, the intention is to bring this to other virtual pilots. The idea to be part of a community, using a common callsign, but with no pressure to conform to routes, plans or timescales.

Our Expanding Team...

Pilot-Focused, Friendly, and Evolving Together

Since starting as a Virtual Airline in January 2026, Blighty Virtual Airlines has built a community. Our founder has volunteered to help new pilots on VATSIM, grown the fleet to include aircraft types that others prefer, and even taken steps to get recognised further. Since starting, the VA has trialled new software to bring the immersion to pilots, but has not mandated it for all pilots.

Two of our pilots also regularly stream on Twitch, with another one of our pilots being the popular RadarController who streams Air Traffic Control on VATSIM. To check out each of them, head to the links below!

Features and More!

Here at Blighty VA, we are always developing new ways to interact and make the experience more immersive and fun!

Listed here are a few features which we have implemented so far as an example of how committed we are as a Virtual Airline, to making out pilot's experience better...

As we are very active on VATSIM, we absolutely recommend this community and supporting them! Head over to vatsim.net to see more!

Hoppie ACARS

Through the amazing system of Hoppie ACARS, our CEO has been able to set up a dispatch system so that pilots and Dispatch can communicate via the Telex and Position Request messages. This can integrate directly into CPDLC on the likes of Fenix aircraft and other free options from FlyByWire as an example!

This is even linked into out Discord server! So those pilots who cannot connect to Hoppie (for whatever reason), can still see any messages for them sent via ACARS.

Blighty Dispatch

We use (currently) three different flight tracking apps; FSHub, FlightLinq and NewSky. Not all of our pilots use each of these consistently, but they all link into our Discord server. That means no matter what software you are using, everyone can share their flight statistics!

Blighty Forums

Hosted on our Discord server, we have our Forums. Here pilots can interact directly with VA Management about where to go next with the airline. Whether it be livery requests, or ideas on what software the VA should use. Our Management are committed to being the best we can!

After all, our ACARS system was suggested through this method!

Where to Find Us...

Blighty Virtual Airlines uses a number of different platforms to help track flights and provide some immersion to your flight simulation experience. Though, our main "staff room" is hosted on Discord. This is where you can find our documentation, liveries and other downloads, as well as our forum and dispatch updates. Peruse the links below to your preference!
